Group names: Maryem, Mia, Christine A and Stephanie We are doing the school sitting area and we have planned to plant some trees and bushes. This is what we have been doing:
Trees Why do we need trees? We need trees because trees breath in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen that we need. They take the gas in through their leaves and they use the carbon atoms to make plant cells. It’s a proven technology and it’s been happening for hundreds of millions of years. It’s how we have coal, oil and gas in the ground. trees also give us shad, shelter, food and more.
Facts about trees? 1.The shade and wind buffering provided by trees reduces annual heating and cooling costs by 1 billion dollars. 2.Trees are the longest living organism on earth. 3.By planting 20 million trees the earth and it’s people will be provided with 250 million ton’s of oxygen. 4.One tree can give a family of 4 lots of oxygen for a year.
What is the Problem? Not lots of trees and bushes in the garden.
Is it measurable? We are going to take pictures before,during and after and then you will relies the permanent change.
Where we are planting? At school in the small garden near the high school.
First letter to Miss Hoekstra? Good afternoon Miss Hoekstra we are students from 6 Marum and doing an environmental project. For our project are hoping to chose the garden near the Girls High school. We feel it lacks trees and shrubs that attract local bird life to the area. We were wondering if you have any plans for the garden in the future. If you would like to hear more of our plan, we could send a more detailed plan to you, or if you have time maybe we could have a meeting?Thank you for you time.

Second letter to Miss Hoekstra? Miss Hoekstra for our Environmental project we want to plant in the garden near the girls High school to make the garden greener. We want to plant Coraline red secretion, Golden cane palm, Homegrown natives and Coraline aevolvta. We have researched and found out that they are native to Liverpool. We added the cost up and it equaled to $221.70. We also want to hold a fundraiser so we can buy trees and bushes we want to hold a mufti day for a fundraiser. So we would like to know if we can plant native trees and bushes in the garden and have a fundraiser. Thanks for your time.
